HALO - One Treatment, Total Skin Rejuvenation
Niki Spano from Lincoln Park shares how Halo, a one-of-a-kind hybrid laser, transforms your skin by smoothing fine lines, correcting sun damage, and evening out tone while delivering the signature radiant Halo Glow.
What is Halo?
Halo is a unique, world’s first hybrid fractional laser. Halo combines two wavelengths that are delivered simultaneously to the skin.
-
Surface layer treatment (2940 nm ablative wavelength): Targets the top layer of the skin (epidermis), improving texture by softening fine lines, reducing pore size, and brightening surface hyperpigmentation.
-
Deep layer treatment (1470 nm non-ablative wavelength): Targets the deeper layer of your skin (the dermis), stimulating collagen and elastin while repairing from the inside out.
Halo is a multitasker. This resurfacing powerhouse treats fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven tone, softens pore size and texture, dullness, and acne scars, providing an overall glow factor that goes unmatched.
Imagine it like sanding the surface while nourishing the deeper structure of the skin. The dual wavelength depths are completely customizable to each individual's goals. This allows your provider to really dial in on your concerns. In addition, the unique handpiece uses a proprietary skin-mapping technology to ensure precise and even results.
The "Halo Glow"
You may have heard of the “Halo Glow” and yes, it's real. By improving overall skin quality, light reflects more evenly off the skin, giving you that radiant, bright, healthy look. It truly works from the inside out.
Who’s a Great Candidate?
Halo is a great option for most Fitzpatrick skin types and a wide range of skin concerns. The best first step is a consultation to make sure you’re a good candidate and to customize your treatment plan.
Most patients see noticeable results after just one treatment, but a series may be recommended depending on your goals.
The “Real Talk” on Recovery.
This new technology has way less downtime than old-school ablative lasers. However, this treatment does require some planning:
-
Day 1: Expect redness and a spicy feeling (think sunburn) that can last a few hours.
-
Day 2-3: Noticeable swelling and puffiness may appear, lasting 3–4 days.
-
Days 5–8: Expect a gritty, sandpaper-like texture called MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris), a fancy word for cell turnover from controlled micro-injuries. Think of these like little scabs. There is no exfoliating or scrubbing for a minimum of 10 days. These will slough off on their own.
We provide an essential post-care kit that has everything you need to stay hydrated and protected while supporting the healing process.
Pro tip: Keeping your skin saturated with hydration not only feels great, it also helps speed up healing. My favorites are HA Immerse from Alastin and Nectar.
Halo + BBL: The Ultimate Duo
As your esti bestie I always recommend adding BBL (Broadband Light) to your Halo treatment. This acts as a booster, providing additional benefits such as:
-
Evening out background redness
-
Reducing signs of rosacea
-
Treating broken capillaries
-
Improving hyperpigmentation and sun damage
Pro tip: always include neck and décolleté. You want your skin to match your face, neck and chest.
