What to Expect During Your Appointment

Here’s what a typical lip filler appointment looks like with me:

1. Free Consultation first – We talk goals, concerns, and what you don’t want. I want you to be confident and sure before we go into the procedure.

2. Assessment – Full facial assessment to make sure all features are balanced and to determine what lip size/shape will fit you best.

3. Comfort-focused treatment – Numbing agents and gentle technique.

4. Gradual enhancement – Less is more, especially the first time. It’s always better to build filler gradually than to add too much at once.

Most appointments take 45-60 minutes total.

Does Lip Filler Hurt?

This is one of the most asked questions I get. Short answer: it's very tolerable, most of my clients will tell me “It’s not as bad as I thought”. I numb your lips prior to the procedure and most of the fillers used contain lidocaine in them so your lips get more numb as I inject. I use a gentle injecting technique to make you comfortable. Your safety and comfort is my number one priority.

Recovery and Downtime

After lip filler injections you will swell immediately—this is normal. Although I love a post injection swell, for some people it can be a jump scare. Rest assured the swelling will go down… and then you’ll miss it.

Typical recovery timeline:

·   Day 1–3: Swelling, tenderness, possible bruising

·   Day 4–7: Lips soften and settle

·   2 weeks: Final result

I always tell patients: don’t judge your lips during healing—trust the process.

Do’s and Don’ts After Lip Filler

DO:

• Stay hydrated

• Keep lips clean and moisturized

• Apply ice intermittently for swelling

DON'T

• Exercise or drink alcohol for 24-48 hours

• Massage or play with your lips (unless instructed)

• Use straws or aggressively pucker

• Apply makeup lip products for 24 hours

• Schedule dental work for at least 2 weeks

On average, lip filler lasts 6–12 months. Many patients find that with consistent maintenance; they need less filler over time.
